cool.gif hi members (((HUGS))).
I can relate to many traits, feelings and behaviours of an ACoA and have taken action to change my thoughts and behaviours over the past few years. I am an addict in recovery and have difficulty distinguishing where my part begins and ends (accountability) in regards to character defects in relationships. I might be a candidate for ACoA but I am not sure. Hope that is clear enough. blink.gif Do you have a set of questions a person could answer if they were wondering if they were an ACoA? Denial is pretty tricky and before I realized I belonged in another 12 step program I answered a phamplet of 20 questions. Best mark I ever got on a quiz....ha ha tongue.gif
Do you also have any links to online materials/literature? I live way up in the bush of Northern Canada where recovery and support is next to nothing.
Thanks for being here...((((HUGS))))

Hi smile.gif

I am an alcoholic and also Adult Childrem of Alcoholic. ACoA started with 4 members of alanon and its first attends were many alcoholics who were also adult children of alcoholics. It is a lot commom to alcoholics and addicts to have been raised in disfunctional families. So I belong to 2 twelve steps programs, at least!

But in all of them the focus is myself, my behavior, my doings. So if we are raised in a disfunctional family, still it is not them, it is me who create all the mess, although it has to be with the environment I grew up.

Anyway, I havenīt seen some like 20 questions to answer and find out if you are ACoA.

You will find more information regardin ACoA on these sites:

Hi Irish,

This was a great find and can help people to decide either they are or not ACoAs. What about pin in?

How are you doing?

Missing you.
