We are well aware in our house of the consequences of drinking and driving. My husband is also a victim and has many residual injuries because a bartender served someone until they could not stand. I don't mean to sound snippy, I am just looking for a place to vent. I agree that the drinkers should be responsible for their drinking. My husband is well aware of my feelings about drinking and driving. I am quite verbal about that. I just can't seem to get a grip on our problem. I can't tell any more details about us for fear someone who knows me may recognize if I tell you the extent of his injuries. I can only hope the man who mowed him down and lived to be cut out of his car remembers what happened. I sure do...and I came after the fact.
Thanks for the input.

Laws vary from state to state and country to country. In some places, for example, drunk driving is punishable by death.
Why do you ask?

Because my husband only drinks in the bar and it only seems to bother me...evidently the staff at the bar thinks its perfectly fine to serve people until they can't talk and let them get into their weapons and drive.

Hi Dean;
I guess that when it comes to drinking in the bar only, in Wisconsin, usually the last person to serve them is responsible if they get into an accident, however I also feel that it is the person's responsibility to drink sensible, of course when I was out there the last thing on my mind was being responsible.
Just thought I would let her know about somewhat the laws in Wis. are, and to offer my help in this, maybe an al-anon meeting would also help in dealing with this, I realize that if something does happen, it"s too late, also maybe she could discuss with her husband how she feels about his drinking driving, not only hurting someone else but the costs involved in driving ticket.
Just thinking.
