Why is attendance at meetings dropping, is it that no one needs meetings, or are newcomers being intimidaed by the old timers that are still stuck in the old ways, Book learning only?
The Big book is a great tool, however there needs to be more discussion meetings to show the newcomers that even though the first meeting can be a scary time, this a group of people who will help you relax and talk about helping you, after all isn't that what's A.A. is all about, one drunk helping another?

Attendence is alive and well from what i can tell, dont blame any problems on oldtimers, they are sober and passing on the message, the disease is the same as it was 72 years ago and so is the solution, dont drink clean house and work the steps

The only real problem that I see in AA today is too many folks (particularly new young ones) have not leanred how to LISTEN. How can anyone recieve what they seemingly do not want .....Old timers have many years of experiences and knowledge from our common problem and the solution to share about ...Which is OUR SINGLNESS OF PURPOSE.......AA is about ALCOHOLISIM.......IT IS NOT a pyscological therapy session....In the 39 years I have been sober I have watched many groups grow in both dirrections then back again..........I believe the Big Picture of AA is much larger than it was when I sobered up....There seems to be a lot of conflicting interpritations of how AA ought to be by the variety of PERSONALITIES..But thank God the written PRINCIPLES ARE ALL STILL EXACTLY THE SAME..............NOW WHAT ARE WE IN AA TO LEARN and be apart of?????.........Is it more about what we think we already know??????
