I've been here several times and have yet to see anyone else here. Just hoping some of you wonderful people will show up on a more regular basis so I can meet you! Thanks!

Hello!
Alano Clubs are close to my heart because I sobered up in one in Ogden, Utah. I live in Montana now and the town I live in doesn't have an Alano Club any more. I was the club steward when I first moved here but then this other guy wanted the job so I let him take it. He ran the club into the ground so it isn't there any more. A lot of people around here would like to start another one but not sure where to start. Any ideas? Thanks! Kaffehound

Hi. New to the net and as yet not sure how to use this service but not new to recovery. U only need 2 or more peeps to be a group so if there's a few of u, put ur ideas in2 action & u'll b up & runnin in no time at all. If ur nythin like me, my ideas but no positive action ran riot when i was drinkin, so actualising is what i need to focus on in recovery, not thinkin about my ideas!

Not sure if this message will even end up where i think i'm sendin it 2 but wat the hec. Off surfin now!! (how cool does that sound?!) C u later.

It seems to me that quiet a few people visit this site and are looking for some sort of meeting activity. They are dissappointed when little is going on and reluctant to post a reply. If a few people start posting, this forum will self perpetuate. So if you are out there and reading this consider registering and posting a reply.

sals, Thanks for the reply, I am actually in the midst of an inpatient program, but on pass for the weekend. Sobriety is easy now, but I am trying to line up stuff for when I am out in the real world. For example, there only 3 meetings in town today, and 2 of them are smoking, which I find farely intolerable. Sunday is even worse. Our weekday meetings in town look good for me, 6:15AM every day. I look forward to an online meeting if these can be arranged. Thanks springbrook17

If anyone is interested, lets try an online meeting/chat at 12:00 noon PST today. That would be 3:00 PM EST. Try to be online at that time if you can for a more continous flow of ideas and exchange of messages.

Hello everyone! I'm new to chat rooms but not AA. I'm starting over trying to do 90 meetings in 90 days. I really need someone to talk to because I can't always get up and go to a meeting. I have a son at home so online is the place for me at times. Love to chat!

I come here like twice a week for the last year and theres not but one time I have chatted.
This couldn't be the national website for AA could it?
Well I will keep trying I suppose since it only takes a second to check for recoverers.
Is recoverers a word? Get back to me as soon as possible on that one!!
Peace,
Adam from Grand Rapids, Michigan

Hello again, back from the spa for a weekend pass. Glad to see that people are finally using the site. If we all tell everyone at our home group about the online stuff things could get rolling. So at your next meeting announce the availability of the site and someone will jump in from each area, creating a pyramiding effect, hopefully.

Hello again, just hoping to catch someone here at the same time and get a meeting online started or at least a chat room rolling. I will keep checking in until either that happens or nothing happens. springbrook27

If you mean a chat meeting ... we had one this morning. The notice was posted yesterday in a couple of the forums.
Looks like we'll be doing it every Saturday.
Send a private message to PamW for more info.

Hello out there looking for some interactive chat! Not sure what this is all about yet but I am trying to connect with others for discussion. I am closing in on one year sober and let me tell ya it's been a rough one. Not taking a drink is the easy part, dealing with the wreakage of my disease is the hardest part for me. Connecting with others who understand is important for me.

Hi, CW. Welcome to the forums.
There are people in and out of the chat rooms all day. So, it's hit or miss, as they say. The best thing is to set a time when you'll be there, so others can be there too.
People can also use the private message or email function to contact others and arrange a time to chat.
Eventually, there'll be people reading the forums most of the time. Then it will be easier to connect.

Hi, my name is Cathy. I pop in at least twice a day. Usually as soon as I get up in the morning and then again when I get home at night. Unfortunately for me that varies a great deal so it's hard to set up a chat time. I'm part of an ongoing email meeting though and enjoy that a lot.

Hi everyone. I am really glad to be here. This is a hectic time in my life so it's nice to have all kinds of places I can go to get that ESH.

WOW, I come back from a hurricane and look at all the posts. I am soooo impressed.
Ok everyone knows there are now two chat room meetings, right?
One on Saturday EST at 12:00 noon with yours truly as the leader but I am open to topic suggestions.
AND one on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10:15pm EST.
with the other Pam as the leaders.
I, WE all hope to see all of you there.
Check the meeting schedules if you have trouble with your exact time, Dean has set it up to accomodate world wide times.
See you there,
Pam-breathing easier-W
Oh by the way, Cathy, ESH is Experience, Strength and Hope. The things we are all able to share.

Well shoot, I'm not THAT new!

Now I DO feel silly. Just AFGE (another flipping growth experience!)
Do we have any other addicts out there who would like to start an ongoing meeting?
(I'm an addict but refer to myself as an alcoholic out of respect when participating in that fellowhip.)
Please let me know and we can make it a reality. Thank you to the board.

Don P. Here,
I'm new and don't find many people here very often, especially later at night Pacific time. Wazzup with that?
