Hi, Everyone. I just registered here. So a little about me.
My name is Ralph and I AM an alcoholic.

With that said I have a problem maybe you could help me with.???

My sober date is 3/23/03..
I have been married 3 times ,divorced twice and been to prison twice..
I say this becouse i am open and honest and willing to go to any lengths to stay sober!!!

I just found out recently that the club that i became a member of,Well the treasurer of the club is looking up peoples names on the internet in the name of public access information, which didnt seem to bother me at first becouse i am learning love and tolerance toward all.Besides I dont regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it.

But as of late i been feeling some hatred for this person, So i brought it up in a couple meetings and discussed it with my sponser, along with several others and noone seems to see where it is helping anyone..Which is supposed to be our goal here right??
When confronted today with this situation the perpetraitor says that these ppl. must be accountable for there actions and they have consequenses...As an ex-con.I have done my time and am trying to become a responsable member of society, Is this right and what about our traditions, and where does internet that wasnt around when the bb or 12 N12 were written come in...

Any advice will be greatly helpful....

Thank you in advance.

I am sorry Ralph, clear this up for me?
This is an AA Club?
Oh no, no, no, no, no.
That is breaking your anonimity.
Who ever gave them permission to do that? mad.gif
Mercy, talk to the police about it.
They are really invading your privacy. They don't have the right
to do that.
Better yet leave the club.
This is not a good club. The club has a "Steering Committe" I am sure.
The Steering Committee should have stopped the person from doing that.
Well actually the club can do anything it wants because it's outside of AA.
But I certainly would leave the club if I were you.

Leaving the club outright seems a bit harsh to me. But I would definately go the board. From what I have seen, every club that is incorporated has to have articles of incorporation, a constitution and by-laws. Bring the matter to their attention and petition that body for the redress of a grievance.

You can't confuse a privately owned club with the program of A.A. Clubs rent space to meetings but are not affiliated with the program just as a church is not.

Again, this is being said just from my experience.
